Field Testing A more practical
form of consultation was attempted directly with mangrove users in two
selected provinces of northern Vietnam. This process, termed “field testing” was
based on using a simplified version of the mangrove Principles which was
translated into Vietnamese, plus a questionnaire for local mangrove users and
managers, supported by field visits to target communes by the local
consultant team (Angus McEwin and staff from MERD, Hanoi National
University). The field testing encountered a number of organisational
problems, but generated valuable feedback and some very important lessons
learned. VIETNAM “Simplified”
